It's a bit tidier than last week but not a lot on it as I have put most of my things away, I think you can just see a little tiny part of my UK Scrappers Challenge page for next week. Shhhhh don't let on! The beginnings of a new journal page- this is only the second art journal page in my book. I have "stolen " the idea from HERE
How gorgeous is that page? and such a brilliant idea for using up odd letters.
This has just one coat of gesso on it.
Three coats and finally covered.
Next some acrylic paints and ........ that's as far as I have got! No time to create today as I am off with a couple of friends to London for the day and going up the Shard.
I shall hop round to you all when I get back and on Thursday.
To join in with the weekly nosey around fellow crafters desks, pop over to Julia's Blog for all the info.

Wow Sue I really love the effects you've got with all the letters. Don't forget to show it when it's all finished please.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.

Very tidy desk Sue. Love how your journal page is coming along - beautiful colour combo.

I don't know if I'd want to go up the Shard..not very good with heights, you see! I hope you have a lot of fun out with your mates...don't be too naughty now!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the letters page of the journal. Very clever!

I love the journal cover, and you have sparked off an idea in my head. I have a Cameo which I don't get enough use out of, but I could glue shapes onto stiff card and make my own clay stamps. Now if I can find some sort of plastic I can cut that would be even better. thank you, enjoy your day Jill #25
ReplyDeleteThe journal cover looks fantastic. I like the idea of random letters and numbers. Hope you had a great day out in London with your friends. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteWow! what a brilliant transformation - love those colours! Enjoy your break! Chrisx 31

ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week!

Now that is a great idea .... using up all those letters. Great effect and it doesn't really matter if someone else inspires you to try a technique. I think they should be thrilled.

Wow, the journal page is looking fab so far - very effective with the alphabet letters, and I love those bright colours. Hope you have a great time in London,

Loving the journal cover, I have seen a number of people recently doing something similar but covering them with different techniques. I love it just as it is but if you're like me I bet you add to it sometime in the future. Thanks for the visit to mine and hope you have a lovely crafty week, Angela x 28
ReplyDeleteI saw the inspiration for the letters the other day and thought what a cool idea it was - love what you've done with it, Sue! Brilliant. Thanks for your lovely comment - I am glad to say I'm feeling a bit better today and hoping for better again tomorrow. I need to feel better this week because I've been given an exciting commission with a short deadline, made shorter by the fact that in a week's time I'll be incapacitated again! Hopefully more on this project in due course. I've got a lot of things I need to be doing and so I need to feel better!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like the dress. That's another thing that's taken a back seat for a while but I'm keen to get on with it. I'll certainly be blogging about that in due course. And I won't be taking orders - you've had fair warning lol lol! Too busy with other things for that!
Happy belated WOYWW,
