WOYWW 334

Well this week quite a bit of my stash is packed for a retreat on Friday . YAYYYY I have been waiting for ages for this. A weekend at Stoke By Nayland "A Trip Down Memory Lane" retreat.
I am on half term this week but although I have the time to create, I have loads of workmen in doing the bathroom so its a chaotic here. I am trying to clear the garden too ( I don't do winter gardening - not great at Autumn gardening either!) I like it to be very sunny and warm and not wet, dark and muddy.
Anyway back to the desk, To the far left, another page in my art journal ( see yesterdays post for details). I bought some really cheap (£3) water colour paints from Tiger a few weeks ago, so I wanted to try them out. There are 4 layers x6 = 24 watercolours. I quite like them and they don't take up much room -bonus! I have also made another mosaic mat using the Tim Holtz kit, I use a couple of those coasters that come in the post from charities that we give to.
If you would like to join in with the hop, opo over to Julia's Blog for all the info.

  1. Good morning, you are not on your own with the garden thing, I'm thinking off leaving all the leaf clearing until they've finished dropping completely or I might just get hubby out the shed to do it haha.
Have a lovely time at your retreat

  2. That tin of Distress Inks looks very inviting. I've seen a few interesting goodies from Tiger and I think there is one where my son goes to university. I must investigate. Thanks for stopping by today.

  3. Never heard of "Tiger" but I do recognise the tiny DI's. Love them in those tins.
Leaf fall is a nightmare here but now I am not up to doing my whack at it so 'im indoors has to do it all - am sure the sacks mulch down well but oh those worms they create.

  4. We actually went out in the garden to do a bit of cutting back and clearing but I'm not really into cold, damp weather gardening either. Have fun with your water colours.

  6. I've never heard of 'Tiger', I'll have to keep a look out! I love those little mini distress inks, mine are all over the place so a tin like that would be very useful - do they come like that or is it your own tin? Thanks so much for the visit earlier, I hope you enjoy your retreat,

  7. We've been raking almost daily trying to keep up with the falling leaves. Autumn is so hard and I hate clearing away, pruning back the garden. Love the tray you have you small inks in. Have an awesome time at the retreat! Diane 26

  8. That's a lot of watercolours for just £3! Will have to check it out! Lovely mosaic - I wouldn't mind taking a closer look! I don't do gardening AT ALL! I let my hubby deal with it - he loves doing it. And the cars. I'm on kitchen and laundry duty most of the time, LOL. Have fun at your retreat! Sounds exciting! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #22

  9. There's a Tiger opening up in Salisbury soon, I think. Oooh Danger Zone!! I've been to the one in Basingstoke with Julia and there' soooooo much temptation in there.......
Good luck with your bathroom renovations. It was a load of upheaval with ours but I love the result. I'm squeaky clean all over now, lol!

  10. Hi Sue, I can see you've been making good use of you watercolours. Isn't it good to get a bargain. I like the look of the tin of Distress inkpad. We should be out doing some gardening too but like you feel it's more a fine weather job. Have a really great time at the weekend and look forward to seeing what you come home with. Barbxx

  12. Have fun at your crafting retreat. Would love to do that sometime. Lots of pretty color on your desk. I too, just got some watercolors and hope I have time to use them this weekend. Sounds like a lot of us on WOYWW are in chaos with remodels etc. Can't wait till it's over. Enjoy your weekend. Thanks for the visit.

  13. Have a wonderful weekend at the retreat Sue.
They closed the Tiger near to my office as they opened a bigger one in the Westfield shopping centre (not somewhere I venture into very often as the whole shopping centre has a very 'closed in' feel to it) so I miss all the fabulous bargains I used to get...however...the old Tiger store is now a branch of The Works so I am still spending way too much LOL.

  14. Lucky girl to be going to a retreat! Have fun!
I have not heard of Tiger watercolours but I recognise the distress inks in the (much coveted by me) box.
I bet you're glad to be out of the house while the bathroom is being done.
I agree with the gardening. I am a strictly summer gardener. I remember picking olives in Italy on a sunny winter's day. I said: If the weather was always this nice I would become a farmer as from today. They answered: Oh but we only go out in the fields when the sun shines!
    Thanks for visiting already,
    Have a good week,
    Lisca

  16. Hi Sue, sorry to hear you don't like the gardening at this time of the year. When the sun is out I love being in the garden but I can tell you it hasn't been like that today. We got soaked this morning walking the dogs and then it rained until about 2.00 p.m. so definitely no gardening today. Hope you enjoy the retreat, have a great week and happy woyww, Angela x 14.

  17. We had been planning to do some autumn gardening last weekend just as we were about to go out, down came the rain!! Did some skirting board painting instead whilst Hubby did the ceiling!! Bonus!!
Nice looking tiles there. I fancy those mini DIs just for the tin, but I have so many of the large size I don't want to mix them now.
    Enjoy your retreat.
    Hugs
