First day of hols- Inky fingers
So the first day of the hols :D . Still getting up early , hoovered etc - looked after sisters daughter for a little while ( To be honesty hardly knew she was there!). Hubby , Dan and Meg still in Cornwall till tomorrow so VERY quiet here. After Nats and I had lunch and I filled in another "Capability to work" questionnaire on Nats behalf ( ahhhhhhh), I got out the inks and paints.
I am going to a workshop in a couple of weeks using distress paints. The lovely lady doing the class will have loads for us to play with but ...I will need to continue when i get home. The image above was my very first play. I did the background, waited for it to dry and then used the paint to stamp the butterfly.
There was still some on the mat , so I swiped a tag over it.
I seem to only have 6 colours in the distress paints so I placed a small order for 4 more and two more of Tim's stencils ..opps!
I also pre ordered those yummy crazy bird dies ( hopefully here by the end of the month) ..Ohh and 200 tags from eBay AND 20 plastic pockets for storing my stamps in sets .
Those of you now worrying about that ink pad drying, I have popped the top back on :D.
Hopefully back tomorrow.
Soojay xx
Enjoy your playtime Sue. Sounds like you have a super class to look forward to.

Gorgeous, fab colours, what a way to start the hols :)
ReplyDeleteHAH! Don't talk to me about Cornwall, Sue. Woke up this morning and the back path outside my kitchen door was under about an inch of water following the night long downpour. Typical, as Gwyn was going to take me to The Lost Gardens of Heligan today :(. Still, it means I can perhaps try to sort out my craft room today instead lol. I love the butterflies, Sue. They are one of my favourites along with bees and owls :). I've been slowly stocking up on distgress inks as and when I manage to find some I can afford and am pleased to find that I now have 23!! Can't wait to play with them...then I have to find an outlet that has all the re-inkers lol.
ReplyDeleteI love the crazy birds stamps but they are something I really have to save up for as they aren't cheap (lol) are they! I must have a look at the paints as well. It's funny, I used to say that I would never get any Tim Holtz stuff as I thought it was just paying over the top for a brand...then I saw how dedicated Tim is so I tried the mini pads as I found them on offer...now I have to say that I'm kinda hooked. xx
Just thought I'd have a nosey round while I was here. Love the butterfly.
