Well its been used this week so its is messy .
I have been trying to draw for the first time in years. I have watched lots of You tube videos and looked at loads of journal blogs. This is my second attempt. The first time I played with some very messy chalk pastels. This is coloured with water colours and H2O's.
If you look closely, you will see a glass of wine - its been a busy week and we are only half way though! The tags are from a UKS swap and are the ones that arrived in the post for me today.

I added liquid pearls to her dress and sequins to the stencilled background.

I need lots of practice I know, I dont mind that she is not perfect and will keep trying .

If you would like to join in with the look around everyones desks, Pop over to Julia's blog to see how to take part.

I have used VERY cheap reeves pastels but hubby has said I can get some artist quality ones .

Two journal pages

Nothing too exciting but I am glad I have stated at least - although i like the words on this, i don't like my writing so it may change at some point.

the background is from my roller after gelli printing and the squares are from a piece of en caustic art cut up and some gold handmade paper cut up.

Background is distress inks and a handmade stencil.

Butterflies stamped onto left over gelliprints. Some are embossed.

It was my dear friends birthday on Friday - we working together- she is supposed to be in charge of me ( poor woman!!) . I managed to get into work early to decorate our office ( and the staff room). I forgot to take photos but we were very busy. we had to do a bit of the yr 11 assembly, so I got them all to sing happy birthday to her.
I made a banner that said "Happy 50th Birthday Debbie" and hung it up in our office.

this is some of the panels ready for letters to be added. ( I used my slice for the letters)

there were also a few "spacer" panels.
Hubby is in front of the TV watching Rugby so I am hoping to get more crafty stuff done .

Sorry , photographing this Tuesday night as I wont get time before work in the morning and it's a bit dark. To the left of the pic, you will see 25 pieces of a banner that I spent the weekend making for a friend who has a big birthday very soon. Sorry daren't show you - just in case. I started another journal page ( even though I have not finished one from last week. This is a bit wishy washy at the mo. I am hoping to get a bit more done tomorrow night or at the weekend.

Here is a sneak peek of a "spacer" panel.

Tim's september Tag

Tim Holz September Tag Details are HERE

Well after having such fun last month , I thought I would join in again this month.
I did need to buy a few supplies - the frosted plastic and the GORGEOUS glossy embossing paste. SO glad I got to play with that fantastic stuff.
I made two tags- For some reason I was convinced that I had a medium sized Autumn leaf set ( I guess I just looked at them so much i thought i owned them!) Anyway I couldn't find them anywhere and had already spent enough. Hence the Coffee cup.

The inky background has been washed out a bit with the light in here - I may re photograph in the morning.

The Cup stamps are from JustRight stamps.

 I love the phrase.

The frosted plastic is stamped and cut for the top and sleeve.

I also had a go at copying the tag that Tim made.

Again the inks look a little washed out.

Looking forward to playing along next month.

Sunflowers and a poppy

There's a challenge over at Paperartsy to use pigment powders- I love my brushos , so decided to make another page in my art journal.

I made some postcard sized backgrounds with the brusho powders and then stamped onto them and once dry. I cut out the stamped flowers and layered them up.

I also used green brushos to stamp and cutout the stems and leaves.

the background of the page is just left over paint from my roller when printing with the gelli plate. I also used a stencil ( homemade) with distress inks and a fab new kaistercraft tiny dot background stamp. I sprayed and flicked a couple of colours of ink over the finished page.

I am ashamed to say that I haven't finished anything since last week and have hardly sat at my desk. As you can see I have managed to order new stamps and some texture paste so I can play. It was a busy week and weekend and I am missing my desk. I had a little play last night and have lots of ideas for when I do get time. The little paper bag is for a student at school , she has a gift for her nan and I said I would make a gift bag for her. On top of the texture paste is some black gesso- just a sample size as I have not used it before.
If you would like to nosey round every ones desks like me, pop over to Julia's blog for all the details of how to join in.

Not much going on here at the mo- Half way though a journal page about the school where I work ( the stags head is our logo) . Also hubby picked up the latest edition of craft stamper , so I have been having a read though.
This little soldering iron arrived today - I have not bought it to solder anything with but cut my own stencils with . I saw a fab tutorial on you tube for making your own stencils out of plastic file dividers -The tool cost the price of two small stencils, so if it works , i shall be able to save a little ( who am i kidding !! ha ha). Of course i can't find the blinking video now can I ? But this is very similar . You can just print onto acetate as well. I will let you know how I get on .
Well ...I found some acetate and couldn't wait. It cuts very smoothly , there is a knack and I was a bit shaky though I could have chosen an easier one to start with!!

I quite like the wobbly bits :).

If you would like to join in with the fun , hopping round other crafters desks , you need to pop over to see Julia who has all the details.

Tag Swap

It occurred to me that I had not shared my received swaps from the last few months. The ones above are from July - Theme - "stars" aren't they fab?

Augusts theme -"Travel" These are also wonderful.

This Month we are a"dding some newsprint" to our tags. These are mine.

I cut out circles from our free paper and stacked them and attached a brad. I used water colour paints and inked the edges and sprayed a little sparkle.

The background is a gelli print that I have die cut.
I added leaves , tape and lace. I also cut out a heart and added "heart" quotes to each tag.

These are being posted off to be swapped at the end of the month.

Page three of art journal.

Not sure how happy I am with finished result- Not how I thought it would be - if I am honest , its a bit too noisy for me....But I really enjoyed creating it and that's what it is all about.

Those sticker letters went down very quick and may not all be straight! - its meant to be that way  ;)

I loved making the flowers ( not my idea) I found a wonderful tutorial HERE - do go check hers out as they are beautiful!

The leaves were cut from a gelli print.

Well there you go ..hopefully back soon ..after the dreaded laundry and house work.
I am playing along with the circle theme over at Paperartsy

Not finished yet ....

Still playing in the evening although i did nod off for a little while after tea yesterday! I am sure I will get into the swing of work/home/me time soon.

The theme for this will be circles but it needs something else- maybe some words or something cut out- will get more chance at the weekend...anyway someone seems to have taken over my desk!

Megan ( My youngest daughter )has started her own art journal and loved the alphabet background idea - i don't mind as its more old stash used up and a good excuse to get more :)

See you soon

More Notebook Folio's

The first is made from some Gelliprints

The second is from Graphic 45 papers

Well, that's it - the end of my Summer hols. They seem to have flown right past again and already I am noticing how quickly it gets darker at night :(. Next term is a busy term and as you will probably have seen ( if you read my blog regularly) I have not made any "C" cards yet !
I will try to post as often as I can but I doubt very much that it will be daily.

Hello Autumn Term.
