ATC's and new products
These new goodies arrived last week and I finally got chance to play with them this weekend.
I had already made a large background with my distress inks, stains and sprays and cut it up to make ATC cards.
I used a stampin up Poppy and a large script background stamp ( sorry I can't remember who made it) The butterfly was from stampendous.
All painted with distress inks- the butterfly is coated in the shimmer
glaze - The colour was a bit too bright and this has made it a bit
paler.
Nothing added here just painted with the inks.
Just glitter glue added to the stamped images.
Went a little overboard with the pearls !!- probably better without.
Well...this WAS my fav until I put the distress glaze on it. It looks a bit like Vaseline and you use your finger to rub it in and then take any excess off with a tissue. It makes the area waterproof- so that the inks can not react with water anymore- BUT it does take away some of the vibrancy .
The butterfly also has some of the shimmer pearl glaze on it- again it takes some of the vibrancy away.
I was recently watching a you tube video about how to get paper/card to look old and rusted. It was a great tutorial but long winded. A few years ago ( quite a few years ago) I was addicted to buying Stewart Gill paint and embossing powders.
The keys are covered with one of the embossing powders and I love it- Unfortunately , they do not make this any more. The keys really do look like they are old and rusty and all it is is embossing ink and the powder. I think you could get a similar look with a mix of disress embossong powders though.(maybe red and black with some gold?)
The keys are die cut from an x-cut set of key dies- I LOVE them.
I just cut a doily and some printed words.
Okay this is probably my fav. The doily is covered with the shimmer glaze (and works really well)
As is the die cut flower ( Cut from my sister's mini poinsettia die - Thanks Nets) stained and then glazed.
The GORGEOUS Key is also cut from the x-cut set.
Aren't they FAB.
The embossing powder is from stampendous and is aged green embossing enamel - I just love all the different colours in it.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend - Hope yours is brighter and dryer!!

How lovely your atc's are Sue. The dandelions head looks fab . I can see you've had looks of fun playing with your new products
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly been having fun, Sue. I just adore the keys, I think I need to add the dies to my ever growing wish list. I've got a load of blank ATCs cut up ready to play with but my muse has taken a break and I'm stumped. I'm off house sitting for a few days from Tuesday for sis to go look at houses just outside Spalding, so maybe I'll get some inspiration while I'm looking after her fur babies :). x
ReplyDeleteWow!,,,,,can't really say anything else
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ATCs, love those key dies.
