It's been an incredibly busy week this week and not in a good way. I had snatched a few mins. here and there on the loom. The above bracelet is for me ( I LOVE those colours) and just needs to be finished off- I am waiting for supplies.
The glue is drying on this one and then it will be taken off the loom.

Even more mess than normal - I did make a couple of cards at the weekend so there are bits left over from that. Started a new bracelet as well. after a manic first day back at work, I needed just half an hour to be on my own and this was just right.
And if you think this is a mess - you should see my other desk ! Trying to sort out ID cards and bus passes for my younger two- it would be easier to give blood!
To join in with the hop - Start HERE. I shall do my visiting after work.

A simple card really. I stamped onto a piece of card that I had already inked up with distress inks and splashed with water.I also used a stencil ( for the stripes ).
I used a clear embossing ink and white powder.
I painted the image with twinkling H2O paints and I really like the way the background colour has come though.
The background paper is from Bo Bunny.

I haven't stopped scrap booking or card making, I have still been making cards but they are part of a secret swap so I can't share just yet.
In the meantime, I can show you three more bracelets. this one uses seed beads that I have had forever and was just threaded randomly. I have edged it
with some brown beads and this is my first attempt at the leather closure. I am waiting on an order with silver beads to finish it off and also some clasps for the other two.
I quite like the way this looks and it is the cheapest one to make.
This one is made mostly with fire polished beads and frosted purple Miyuki beads with a splash of silver.
The same pattern made with frosted 4mm beads and the dark blue fire polished beads. Also a few silver seed beads added.
Back to work tomorrow and it is exam season , so not as much time to create :(

On making these now- I am still learning though and this was a little tight in the end . I also want to be able to finish it off a little differently and need to get some suede to have a go.
Still quite happy with the finished bracelet although reading the pattern took a lot longer than the other one AND the beads were a lot smaller too , so it took a few hours longer to make. I like the pastel colours.

Not as messy as last week ( still needs a tidy). There is a big pile of new(ish) pattern papers and card stock hidden up underneath the "stuck" sketch - I AM going to start this today ...ha ha!
I am lucky enough to still be on holiday from school but don't be fooled into thinking I am not doing much- having three adults with "extra needs" in the house means there is LOADS of organising to do and appointments to attend.
Anyway - do I really need another hobby ?? Ha Ha - yes! The above object is a beading loom and as well as the wrap bracelets I made last week, I have just completed my first loom bracelet.
I am quite pleased with it and will be making more ( when the new beads arrive - Shh don't tell hubby) . At least the post packages are smaller than the scrapbook supply ones ;).
To the top right of my desk are some paper clay elements - of course I had to have it - The owl will go on daughters B card later this month .
Right off to hop around the desks.
If you would like to join in - HERE is the starting point.
Look what the postie just delivered :
Julia - seen on your blog last week :D One of the online stores was having a free postage day as well . Looking forward to playing with this later. Much bigger than I thought it would be too .

So, I picked up a beading Loom while I was in Hobby Craft the other day - not really knowing how to use one or even if I would use it.
It looks quite complicated but I found a tutorial at Spoilt Rotten Beads and followed the instructions to the letter.
I am quite happy with the results and of course, both daughters have made requests. Believe it or not , it does use that many beads to make.
It didn't take too long to make either especially as this was my first attempt.
Made for daughters friend who's Birthday it is next week.
HERE is the link to the file ( and some others too)
I wanted to make a cute box to pop it in and found the SVG file on Pinterest for this little bag. I cut it using Bo Bunny paper and my scan n cut.

There was a retreat at Stoke By Nayland this week end run by ATDML. I usually go to the one in October and have been known to gate crash once or twice in April - but not this year.
Ann posted a challenge up on Face book for those of us who were unable to attend.
I chose a photo taken at another retreat last year ( actually it may have been a couple of years ago ) of Sarah and Ann.
I used the new "Attwell" papers from fancy pants.
I just added a few stickers and pearls.
There is a new tag challenge over at UK Scrappers - This month challenge is to use embossing folders. I have to admit , I don't use my folders very often - I always forget. I went for a steam punk look this month.
The tags were painted with white gesso, stained , spritzed and then painted with distress inks, H2O's and distress crayons. I also added some metallic wax.
I had some silver cogs that I changed with embossing powders and also cut a few cogs out with the scan n cut.
I stamped and cut out a few elements using Marion Smith stamps and added a few embellishments.
If you would like to join in there is still time to sign up at UK Scrappers
