UK Scrappers Christmas Blog Hop
Hello and Welcome to Sundays post of the UK Scrappers Christmas Blog Hop.
Just in case you have stumbled onto my blog, I will let you know that we are have a new blog hop post every day right up to Christmas to keep you inspired.
Yesterday it was this fab post from MiniOwner.
***
Right My post is a Christmas Banner.
You can make this from a just scraps of cardboard, left over Christmas paper and die cuts.
Here's how I made mine:
I found some chipboard -i even had a piece shaped as an ornament but instead of using a page from the mini book, I drew round it. I cut out three shapes with the "flag" shape for the bottom. This was the largest piece measuring 4 and 1/2 inches by 6 and 1/4 inches.
I decorated each piece with plain and pattered card stock. I then die cut circles with spellbinder and sizzix dies. I think I punched out the green scalloped circle , Just use what you have. I used some die cut Christmas words but stickers would work just as well.
The puffy stickers in the background were free on a magazine
I also made "rosettes" from my Tim Holz sizzix die and decorated this one with a snowflake die that has been covered in glitter . You can't have TOO much glitter at Christmas!
I layered them up with 3D tape and ...LOOK good old Tesco's is selling plastic candy canes in packs of four, Perfect for this ! I was going to have a go at making them with fimo but don't need to now.

Here are pictures of each piece made up.
I have joined them together with ribbon but you could use book rings or wire.
I have mostly used Graphic 45 Nutcracker suite papers as I love them but any Christmas papers will do.
I have inked around everything.
Well I hope you like it . Its really easy to make and costs pennies- just use what you have in your stash. It doesn't have to hang vertically either.
Don't forget to check the UK scrappers Home Page to see where to go tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fab project using up lots of bits and pieces to make a festive banner.
ReplyDeleteLove your banner project, it would make a lovely gift too. like things that use up odd bits and pieces and that give to the opportunity to add more dimensional embellishments than you can add to a layout.
