A few layouts - Don't Faint!!

First I need to apologize for the rubbish lighting- I need to get some daylight bulbs and its so dark now and most of our lights are energy saving- great to disguise the dust but not great to photograph in.
I just came back from an amazing weekend at Stoke By Nayland ATDML retreat .
This is the first time I have done a layout for months and really enjoyed myself.
The layout above was a kit challenge with a sketch and is of Meg in the Summer - I have used these photos before- i NEED to take more photos!

This layout is a sketch challenge and we could use any papers- I chose to use Bella Blvd "Man of the house" papers and stickers. The photos were taken on Dan's 18th Birthday earlier this month.

 Lovel;y Papers :)

This double page was a class taught by the lovely Suzanne Torr and uses Websters pages papers.
We also used shrink plastic to embellish the middle of the lace flowers- I still need to add journaling. The photos were taken in April on Natalie's 26th Birthday.

We cut out elements of the paper and layered them - this light just doesn't show how beautiful the papers are. I went shopping afterwards ( Mel and Jill had their shop at the hotel :)) and bought lots more.
I borrowed Suzanne's boarder punch for the green boarder - I NEED that punch now!!

A close up of the lace flower and the shrink plastic centre.

This three page layout was also taught by Suzanne ( I LOVE Suzanne's classes!) and uses My Minds Eye "Lush" papers. There was lots of cutting on this one !
I chose some of the photos from Megan's year 11 prom in June this year.

I probably wouldn't have chosen these papers myself  but am more than happy with how they turned out.

This is my favorite of the three, probably because I love this photo so much. She was listening to the girl and her dad who were driving the horse and carriage talk about the film sets they had worked on. Her eyes lit up when they said they had worked on "Pirates" with Johnny Depp.

There was a challenge to make a card. I had already stamped this image out so just coloured it in and cut it out.

When I cut out an image close to the black line, I tend to go around the edge with a black copic pen - just to hide up any bits of white. the ice-cream bit must have been a bit damps and the black pen "ran" into it and it looked awful - I almost threw it away to start again but remembered I'd seen some tiny bedazzle beads, so used them to cover up my mistake . Looks okay doesn't it?
There was also ( as always) an challenge to alter something- this time it was a mini bag. I used my Tim Holtz dies to make those flowers.

I cut it open to make a mini book and used kraft card for the pages. It is all decorated now ready to use.

I also made three Mini books but need to complete them all and then put photos in. I am pleased that I still have them to complete , as it gives me something to look forward to doing at the weekend.
I will Photograph and share when they are done - Well done if you are still reading!!

Angel Card

The Angel is another Sweet pea stamp called Meredith Dillman's Broken Angel and found HERE.

She looks really sad but I love the wings .
Anyway I have used her to make an "inspirational" Card.
The sentiment is a Lili of the Valley Stamp From a set of Quotes HERE
I have also used spellbinder dies to cut out the mounts around the sentiment.

A Quickie

A Very quick, simple card . I "Found" the stamped image while rummaging though some old stash.
I must find this stamp - I used to collect the wooden stamps and Magenta was one of my favorite brands.
I really must user up all my stamped images- this one was even coloured in - I think with H2O paints.

I will try to find out what this stamp is called ( when I find it!) Sir Stampsalot do sell lots of lovely Magenta stamps HERE although not this one.
The sentiment stamps are from Waltzing Mouse Stamps ( link in right hand column )
I suppose I had better go do some House wifey stuff ..might be back later.

Sweet pea Christmas

I Love this Stamp - it arrived last week and i have already used it twice.
at the moment it is on sale in the store for $2.
I have stuck to the colours in the example (in the shop) this time.

The ivy leaves are from a free stamp on the craft stampers magazine a couple of months ago.
A Spellbinder die was used to cut out the sentiment.

You can't go wrong with some glitter and liquid pearl accents.

Twisted Card Sketch No 82

I Love these Inkadinkadoo Stamps. I bought all their Halloween stamps a few years ago ...I dunno why ...We don't really Celebrate Halloween Much here.

I cut out the Pumpkins and popped them onto 3D foam.
The spiders are also punched out and then stuck with foam.

Loads of glitter and Inkadinkadoo Halloween stamps for the spider, web and title.
The web was stamped onto card and cut out then stamped with clear ink and dipped in holographic embossing powder
Her tail has glossy enamel spots - i used the ranger black enamel for this.

One of my very fav things to do , is to "play" with ink and stamps.
My darling Hubby wanted to go to the local Costa yesterday , I was very happy as it meant I could pop next door and pick up this months Craft Stamper magazine.

Often if I buy a Craft magazine, I just usually flick though and admire other peoples work, may be also check out the new product. Sadly, rarely am I inspired enough to "have a go". The craft Stamper Mag is the opposite .
I loved using the technique used to create these two cards- so simple and even better, I didn't have to go out and buy new products. The link to mag is HERE

I have had these stamps for a few years and don't use them much. They do need to be stamped onto photo or glossy paper otherwise you lose the detail.

Along with brilliant ideas, there is always a free stamp on the cover and here is this months.

I am not sure what I am going to do with her yet. The mag shows you how to make fridge magnets, a mini book and cards. I will show you when its finished.

No I don't work for the mag or have been asked top promote it - Just love it. Anyone know of another UK stamping mags ??

Boy Cards

My baby boy was 18 today so , of course I made him a card- I do think he preferred the one I got from Moonpig when he was 16 and had made into a magazine cover or the one from his Nan with money in it -ahh well.

He is a football fanatic who supports Arsenal and Ipswich- hence the footballer.

These two cards are made for 16 yr old twins at the school where i work.

I have used Kenny K digital images and made a couple of plectrums.

I am not that great at "boy" cards, so I hope they will do.

Right off to cook something n' chips for birthday boy's tea- its what he asked for :)
